The Producer's Forum Introduction Thread!
« on: August 25, 2016, 03:48:47 pm »
Even though the forum's been around for nearly 8 months now, we've never had a proper "introduce yourself" thread. If you want, you can post here to tell everyone who you are, where you're from, what kind of music you make, what workstation you use, or any information you want to share so we can get to know you better. Who knows? You might find the production duo partner you've been searching for.

To start - my name's Joshua! I'm a full-time student going for my BFA in music composition, living and studying in San Francisco. I've been producing for about 3.5-4 years now, and use Ableton as my primary DAW. I've been making a lot of drum and bass lately, but I also make moombahton, dubstep, trap, electro house, and all that mainstream EDM ish except for big room. I've even been producing this indie pop song for a singer/songwriter friend of mine!

TBH, I just wanna be able to make a living writing music that makes people feel things.

Hi I'm Robert! I heard about this forum when it got started. I'm trying to become more active and try to meet people and interact with other people :) I'm a full time student - double major in software engineering and music media. I've been producing for about 4-5 years. I use FL Studio primarily. I haven't settled on any style so I've just been trying everything out and trying to learn a lot of different genres.

I can't think of a better way to say it than Mussar
I just wanna be able to make a living writing music that makes people feel things.

Hey everyone, I go by MMIC, and I only just found this forum today. I'm working full-time in San Diego, and learning to produce at night. I've been producing for about half a year now, with Ableton Live as my DAW. I don't have a style yet, but I listen to a lot of future beats/bass, trap, and 90s RnB. I'm looking forward to absorbing as much knowledge as I can from you all  ;)

My name is AnnieTP. I've been around here since April but I don't contribute as much as I used to. I'm trying to increase my knowledge of music as much as I can while I have time. Maybe when I know more about music I'll start contributing more often.
P.S. Don't let the nickname fool you. I am not a girl.

I'm a 27-year old who resides in Tweed Heads, Australia. I have been producing for the last 14 years, starting out on Fruityloops 3, Soundforge and Reason. My rendered product is sitting at 13.8GB, dating back to before 2004. I prefer not to stick to a single genre (boring). I am currently studying my Bachelor's Degree in audio engineering at SAE Byron Bay.

Over the last few years I've lost my way with my music. I've suffered depression since I was a kid and lately have become a recluse. My general attitude has affected the quality of my compositions. I've become lazy and unfocused. So I thought I'd come here and share my knowledge.

But above all that, this is me: RISE Soundcloud

Hi all!  I'm Justin, currently a student at the University of Miami studying jazz performance and music business.  I've been playing music for about 9 years, mostly saxophone but also some percussion and piano and various little things on the side, and now I'm intent on making progress with producing.  At the moment I'm particularly interested in music with high emotional content, but also music with novel/interesting sonic content.  Glad to be here, and looking forward to hearing everyone's music!

Hi Kori,

I like to produce and DJ house music. Been seriously learning things for about half a year now. I have been aiming my direction towards producing lo-fi or chicago like house. Anything house related to be honest is what I produce. Not anywhere near where i aspire to be though.

Third year of college in computer science.  :P

Hi!

I'm GallaX, and I'm a really diverse producer. My tracks have gone from ambient pan-flute and violin stuff to prog house to chillstep to 120BPM synthpop (I supose, dunno if it actually has a name) to my latest track being some kind of Liquid DnB.

That's a big list for a producer who started only 9 months ago. So my earlyer tracks might sound shit (Only because I kept forgetting what notes were in what scale and mixed them up by accident) but my later tracks are actually not bad at all (As long as it's your taste of music of course).

So that's who I am.

What's up guys!

I'm Finesse the Kid, and I produce hip hop music currently. I have been producing for almost a year so I am slowly trying to expand into rnb and boom bap styles. I have about 4 decent tracks out and I'm working on the 5th. I am from Mississippi, so if there's anyone nearby that wants to do a collab. Hmu whenever!

Hi everyone. I'm Ricky and I'm alcoh... No, just kidding. :D

I'm Martin, 15yo shy nerdy emo kid that somehow woke up in a 26yo fat wierd body one day. ...that pretty much sums up the personality. :D I'm from Czech Republic, which half of the planet still calls Czechoslovakia eventhough those two countries separated 25 years ago. 8) Studied IT at highschool, then failed miserably when trying to continue studying IT field at economical university. (They opened multimedia specialization a year after I left. Damn. :D) Right now I work as an audio engineer and DSNG operator for a television broadcast company. (Quite fun, but eats a lot of life. Probably will explore other fields in the future.)

Started producing at 17, went through pretty much all of the DAWS, but sattled in Ableton. I was originaly huge trance head, but now I'm more focused on liquid dnb, chillstep, even some garageish-glitchtepish wierdness. Ready to dive my nose into that future-bassy bandwagon a bit. Just to get some inspiration for experimenting. :)

Hello! I'm Rixir. I’ve been producing for about a year and a half and I use FL Studio. I make music primarily because I want to inspire people the same way my favorite artists have inspired me. Hoping to achieve that by making genuine music that resonates with others. I want to learn as much about music production before I start releasing music, so I’m committing as much time as I can towards learning!

I don’t think i have a defined style yet, but I am heavily influenced by melodic electronic music with emphasis on atmosphere, emotion, and meaning. Also a very huge fan of ambient music and film scores.

I'm DoyiFuckingAwesomeLee!!!

Or at least I want to be, and I'm trying to boost my confidence and skills by sharing what I have here, as well as giving feedback to others. :)

I've always been a vocalist, but I felt my creativity and expression expand when composing my own songs.
Current DAW = iphone6 garageband. I'll move on to Logic soon.

Thanks everyone!
