Creativity and Learning
« on: June 16, 2016, 10:13:21 pm »
Honestly, I've been struggling with staying creative because every time I open a project I just feel like there's something else to learn. I don't exactly always know where to look to learn whatever it is I need to learn and end up finding myself spending 5-6 hours on just getting 4 bars. I'm not asking for some magical feeding spoon, but where has everyone learned what they've learned? Some background on me I love Dubstep, Future Bass, Future and Deep house. All of which I want to make, but have no clue on where to obtain all the knowledge to be able to put my ideas behind a computer.

Thousands of hours behind a DAW, Instrument, Computer, Book, or Highschool band. Learning via BOTH trial and error and watching/talking to other people.

Music theory is highly accessible on the internet. Learning an instrument may take a little bit of a financial investment. Training all the individual components necessary to become competent in the field of music takes years.

Just start off with copying other people. Whether it's learning an instrument or learning to produce. Identify everything that you like to hear in your favorite music and combine it all into your own.

i found that its not good to force it, cause you will make crap and then become sad in the studio

inspiration comes again and again

ill work on sound design, look at stuff on youtube, and then stuff will come in your head again, i think its a muscle cause you have to handle happiness and dissapointment in the studio
