I feel like it needs more groove during the intro, w/  some more variety but not really sure how to achieve that. I started with the break and am trying to piece the song around it, so you can her how that part seems more developed than the rest. Any advice on the drop would be appreciated, I'm having difficulty breaking out of that typical super saw chord progression and want to work in the melody.

Thanks all!

Try structuring your track as follows:

Have a 32 bar intro, divided between 2 sections of 16 bars, filter the kick. I'd also suggest adding some percussion and filtering that too. Have a small 8bar breakdown where the piano gets introduced, and gradually add the kicks and other samples. Filter the bass and a subbass too, if you have one. Good luck! :)

oh wow this is really nice!

i personally don't care so much if the progression is a bit common - most people don't notice other than really elitist producers, and they don't really matter do they?

i find the structure mostly fine, although i agree with anhydrite that it might be cool if the percussion is briefly taken away when the piano is introduced. maybeee the build up portion is a little long, although i very much like it the way it is.

to make the intro just a little bit more interesting, i think a little synth glissando with delay every 8 bars or so could be nice - or maybe a clap with some reverb. something that's not too complicated!

A suggestion I would make is to literally just copy the structure of one of your favorite tracks. It's worked for me, maybe it might just work for you! Love the groove of the beginning of the track, but I feel like maybe the track should filter down a bit more before it drops down instead of going from drums --> immediate pads/melodic section. Finish it!!

First things I noticed were that there's way too much white noise floating around during the drop and that the kick has like no sub. If you fix those issues you're well on you way to a sick beat my friend!
