« on: April 18, 2016, 12:34:37 am »
Title.

Just curious as to how the different chord progressions look for different songs.

i know its vague but just thought it would be interesting for some visual learners.

thanks

Your questions are very confusing.

Are you referring to what the chord progression look like via Roman Numerals? For example.

iii>IV>V>vi

OR are you referring to what they look like via actual chords?

Em>Fmaj>Gmaj>Am?

You're going to see the same few progressions a lot regardless of genre.
Screenshots won't really tell you much from a distance, other than voicing.

This is very true.

Keep in mind though OP some genres use certain chord progressions more than others. In the rock I listen to for example I don't hear very many modulations or modal interchange. When I do though it makes my life.

Wow, you made something really beautiful there. I'm going to have it stuck in my head for a while.  ;D

I tried to rearrange things so you could see them, and I'd be more than happy to open up a few piano rolls if you'd like.

Some emo kid couldn't start a band, so he picked up a computer instead. That's going pretty well.

F# minor scale. Festival/ electro house. Removed the top melody (sorry :P)

Question:

I wrote this in F# minor, but two times within the four bar melody I used F5 (rather than F#5) on the top line melody which technically doesn't belong in F# minor chord progressions.

I honestly believe it sounds better with F5 rather than F#5 for the two specific notes even though it is out of key.

The chords are:
F5        F5
A#4      F#4
D#4      D#4
              B

ANSWER: F# minor's harmonic minor raises the E to E# -> F?
