A subforum for collaborations and voluntary mixing/mastering
« on: March 02, 2016, 09:29:53 pm »
A spot for artists to meet like-minded people to collaborate with, or offer to do remixes and so on.. and also a spot for mixing/mastering guys to offer their free services to get off the ground. I'm currently looking for talented artists to mix free of charge for my portfolio, so obviously would be a huge help! All the best

I support this idea. It might have a set of sub-sub forums by type of the colaboration:

- Classic collabs
- Vocal collabs
- "Somebody finish this"
- Remixes
- Mixing/Mastering

I think this would be cool. Just to look at all sides of this, we should make sure people are understanding that there will be times where the person you want to collaborate with will not want to collaborate with you for whatever reason and there should be no hard feelings. IDK if anyone would take it that personally, but no one likes being rejected and inevitably someone's gonna decline an offer to collab.

I don't think this is an issue. We can make sticky post about it. Nobody would be "obligated" to collab.

I think that the arrangements can be made by PM, so no one will be rejected in public.  Collab section is really needed.

Yeah, that's how I feel. As long as there's a notice for people to see, it should be fine.

If I'm understanding it correctly, it is at right angles with one of the rules. Unless there was a thread where you could say "I'm up for collaborating" with certain information and requests would still be kept private. Being rejected for collaboration would be kind of embarrassing.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about because I'm terrible at explaining

Still, a subforum would be acceptable too. I'm just not sure if it requires its own subforum.

So I assume people have gone off this idea?

Too bad, I'm still up for it.

I don't think it's that any of us have fallen off the idea, but that the moderators have kinda abandoned the forum. :P

EDIT: Now that I'm a moderator, I don't actually have the power to make subforums. Looks like that's an Administrator thing.

Which is sad. It's nice community here. I like it here. Why would anyone leave? :'(

I came here specifically to make a post that would have basically been identical to yours. +1
