I hate names, and i hate words.

my brother actually helped me come up with my name on a road trip to a show one evening years back in high school.

Eventually i think it kind of grew to capture the perspective of myself and the music i wish to create.

I like the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series, so that's where my name came from. However, its meaning has become more personal once I started producing more seriously.

Lydian is the fourth mode. (Music theory) It just so happens that modes have a nice ring to them so I adopted it as my username before someone else took it since the forum is new.

Just thought I'd add that Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts) and Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) are some of the best composers in the world.

The first album from my band in 1988 was going to be called "One Voice in the Cosmic Fugue", which is a quote from Carl Sagan and the title of one of the episodes of COSMOS. That album was never finished due to us getting jobs and the fact that dealing with hardware MIDI instruments and 4-track cassettes is no fun at all and getting a decent recording was way beyond our budget.

Anyway, 25 years later I adopted that name for my current project.

One day, I was bored at work and started contemplating the idea of electronic music being often described as "cold", which got me thinking about "frozen music", and boom, I came up with cryophonik.

Aaand here goes the "most stupid alias/nickname" dishonor. :D

I liked this (by today standards pretty silly) movie when I was a kid. There was an extremely clumbsy character named "Lawerence Farley". I was, and still am, extremely clumbsy too, so I chosed his surname as a nickname on various internet forums. ...and there was a lot of them.
The catch is, I didn't realize two things:
1. Chris Farley, the comedian, existed. ...which makes that alias virtually "ungooglable".
2. Choosing surname as alias is pretty stupid idea as there might be other people who acually have that surename trying producing too. :D
...and that happened. So, quite uncreativelly, I added few letters. Trainwreck. :D

I thought about changing it, but as my only kind of a "real world" success was a remix competition, resulting in a collab that has this sh*tty alias on it, I think I might keep it. Or naah? Dunno.
"Earth is round right? Look at it from right angle and you'll be always on top of the world."
...but don't overdo it, because that's called being a d***k.
