Hey
Getting the hang of mastering...really not sure what genre to place this under...
Tech House? Techno? Progressive?
What say you?

To me it sounds like somewhere between older, 90s Melodic Techno (like Drexcyia and the Artificial Intelligence stuff on Warp) and Synthwave, as it has that late night 80s/90s TV drama / sci-fi (the Blade Runner samples help that!) or maybe even game soundtrack quality to it.  The image is great, as is the separation though for me the drums are a bit low - the kick especially if you're aiming for a dance style - if you're not, and going for 80s electro style, it's fine, maybe just up a bit to drive the track along, otherwise the bottom is being dictated by the (very chunky and nice) bassline.  The high pitched lead is nice though I think maybe watch it about 2.5k-5k as it's a bit sharp on my HS7 monitors and I'm listening quite low.

Hope that's useful!

Thanks, that is really useful.
Yes the kick was deliberately sunken so as not to be too much of a driver and more of a moody trancer.
mp3 compression sux, the high rez versions are much clearer with more punch.
I wanted it to reflect the early stuff since thats my era and,as you say, the Bladerunner sample dictates that (glad you picked up on that).
I will look at the top end too...it was mastered high. I monitor through Fidelio X2's as well as speakers. The headphones are coloured a little warm so I may have overlooked the highs.
Perhaps I will remix it from scratch soon.
Cheers for the input.
