Been spending far too much time on this. Tell me it sucks so I can forget about it and move on.

I finished this a few months, but was very proud of this and never shared any music on here.
This actually won the contest.

Sound Design / Bass leads

What is the best techniques for having the bass be your lead?
My problem is a lot of the time it feels too flat and not big/fat sounding.

Any suggestions?

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / New computer

Best places to buy for a computer that's purely for making music.

I have a $1500 max limit.

Great song, love your work.

I wanted to go with a similar concept in one of my tracks around starting at 2:11. That break.
Whenever I try and create some sort of tension, it always falls so flat.

It seems so simple in my head:

1 pad
1 maybe sub bass
1 main melody with a lot of delay
1 main arp
1 misc instrument creating a bell like sound

But I'm failing so hard. A little embarrassed to be asking, tbh. Any help is appreciated.

Sound Design / Toms processing
« on: January 20, 2016, 05:49:09 pm »
Whenever I want to use toms, they sound terrible. Either too bassy or just too wide.

Is it just bad sample selection or is there certain processing to get them to sound punchy and centered rather than boomy and wide?
