Revolution.

You'd be surprised how many times a lead you hear in a track is just a preset in a synth somewhere.

It might help to browse a bunch of presets until you find something that sounds really close then tweak a bunch of knobs until you can get close.

Sorry about your story. You should really see a mental health doctor. The entire situation seems to be the result of you losing your motivation to write music and you stressing yourself out because of it. Feeling like you're not going to be able to do anything about your situation sounds like symptoms of low self esteem, learned helplessness, and depression.

You should make music.

Layers of a track in my opinion look like this.

Bass Instruments
Mid Instruments
High Instruments.

Then their functions in my opinion are...

Melody
Chords
Bass
Countermelody
Rhythm

For drums it's like this...

Kick drum = low instrument
Snare/clap = mid instrument
Hi-hats/shakers = high instrument

For instruments it's the same concept except you can use whatever you want cause it's electronic music and there aren't any physical limitations in regards of what can be played.

If that's too much for you then just recreate songs and steal your favorite artists sounds. Then save them as patches and use them in your own music.

Structure.

Because writing a full song is a lot harder than writing an idea.

In headphones when walking, sleeping, or away from home. In studio monitors when producing or just fucking around on the computer.

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Do you listen to your own music

I don't really listen to my music after I'm done making it. I'm usually sick of listening to it on repeat or I can't really tell whether it's good or not anymore. I prefer listening to other artists instead because they're better.

How about you guys?

I kind of agree with everything Marrow said. Really sorry to hear about your situation.

Anything by Studio Ghibli because Joe Hisaishi is the composer.

Pretty sexy vibe but nothing really unique/shocking about it.

I use it on my drop layers usually to bring out the tail of the sound or to bring out the reverb.
