I've really been wanting to get into this kind of sound design! Any pointers to achieve this kind of sound? :)

Get some good distortion vst's, saturation, besides the process in the vst you are using to make the sound, also resampling is very important, I resampled the first sound i got a few times and then i applied some granular filtering to it so it sounds more filtered and then some distortion, i made the first sound in FM8 and my post processing chain was:
stereo widening
more stereo widening
multiband compression
and then the granular filtering process.
I'm not an expert at all but i hope i can help!! and thanks for checking the post! :D

yesss Apeidon, 'therapy' and all of de La Mancha's plugins are so fun to mess around with. they have another one called "bent" that takes a lot of finagling but adds a really interesting glitchiness to sounds that ive not heard elsewhere.

and Mat, that plugin is crazy woah, definitely going to need to play with it more!
i've just test blent with some distortion, thanks for the recommendation!!
here's a clip ive made in 15 minutes haha

there is a strange filtering granular processing vst called "therapy", ive been using it in some basses and you can get awesome results but, i canĀ“t figure out what kind of algorythim this follows but it is so cool, also its free so...

Man that bass at the drop is CRAZY.

Couple of things:
-you're kinda at max volume RIGHT from the getgo. Make the
-The chord progression is a tad confusing, though that's a matter of preference.
-the drums in the drop need some work. They hit hard but I really want the snare to be wider, and you could add a clap in there to layer over top of it (have it play just barely before the snare to give it a nice "flam" like sound)

dude do you recommend to use ott in drums, ive been trying it lately and the sound is kinda good but it doesn't sound stronger, just better, you know what i mean? i would like to know if you know it can be a good idea, thanks for all the advices!! I really apreciate it! :D

I've been making beats inspired by artists like shadient or rezz lately, would like to know your opinions of this!
thanks in advance! :D

Right now all your drums are kinda hanging out in the center, so I might widen them a bit, even if it's just a wide open hat or something.
Also a mid/high synth to go in harmony with the thing you have already would be nice and could help the piece move forward a bit melodically if you know what I mean.
Good work!
yes, a synth could add the harmony to improve the musicality of the song, thank you for the answer!! and i'll try to wide up drums a bit with a hihat

hmm. are you sidechaining the subbass to the kick (or a ghosted kick for more control)? that way you only have subbass when there is no kick, and vice versa.

yes, but i dont know it seems kinda messy always and i've tried lot of things, i always want to imitate the sub in madeon's tracks, because i really like how he manage it, here is an example, the sub is very clear and punchy, also the kick is superb, i guess is all about eq, stereo imaging and good layering but i cant get that sound, i guess it's a matter of practise, thanks for the advices!

damn dude, how did you process that bassline? this is cool. i would consider adding some kind of ambience in the background. this is very dry, which isn't a bad thing, but some extra fills and reverb could go a long way. and also, maybe more sub on the kick? it's very heavy in the highs, almost too much so.

this sounds interesting though, i'd love to hear it in the context of a song if you continue with it!
Hey thanks for the comment!! its made with 3xosc and i added an eq, distortion, saturation, fruity flangus, a stereo imager and a compressor, the cool effect in the sound is due to fruity flangus, it adds a very interesting flanger to the sound.
I'll try to adjust the eq's and try to give more poeer to the kick, but i usually add a sub bass and many times in stead of get more power it just makes the kick messy, i cant get a really good result, why is this? Thanks in advance, i'll try to finish this soon!

vocal chants on the 2's +4's would add a lot of energy on this
could be a good possibility, gonna try that, thanks for the answer!

Mixing/Mastering / Re: High End

Well maybe your sound is similar to the one of deadmau5 but you have to be very careful with the sound design because that's the important thing, make sure your sound is pretty fcking nice before any kind of processing, he also do a good use of compression and eq, pretty important to avoid frequencies in the high end that can make bad resonances, also be careful with distortion which can create new harmonics so maybe you have to adjust the processing of the sound again, that's my advice.
I'm not a professional at all but i hope i can help you in something!!!:D
