Depends on the genre, depends on the emotion or purpose of the track, and depends on the focus of the track. Big Room can take as long as Complextro to create, even if both producers are at the same skill level and investing the same type of creative energy - but it most likely won't, because of the relative sparseness of the genre's sound.

I have a tendency to get tired of a track I'm working on because I later figure out how bad it sounds so, I never really finish them or I just can't figure out how to progress the track

i'm unsure because i have never finished a track ever i just have unfinished projects
Imagine my surprise when I found out "restraining order" did not mean she wanted me to tie her up.

I'm currently like 10% of the way finished and I've put in around 25 hours, I have no idea when I'll finish, but it will be done when it's done.
One guy I know spent 400 hours on a song :3

Yeah my last song 'Verloren' took around 400 hours, and my upcoming single 'Infinitum' has around 600-700 hours on it.. not something I'm very proud of but people are usually impressed haha

I very rarely go over 16 hours because i like to finish tracks in one go.Very often if i dont finish the track in 1 or 2 shot i stop caring about it,or doesnt feel like forcing myself to finish it,cant get in the tracks mood,or breaking from it.prefer to make new stuff etc.
So i go 16 hours straight no food, only stopping to go to the toilet, not answering phone or ring bell or nothing until ive finished or almost finshed it.
Even the my most insanely complex DNB/IDM stuff i do is done under 18 hours for me.

Varies widely for me. Really depends on the feeling I have for a track.
Sometimes I flesh something out in an hour or two then spend a lot on detailing, tweaking, mixing etc. Sometimes it's more of a struggle on various parts. No rules !

Usually if I don't finish a track within 2 weeks it completely falls apart, so around 24-30 hours for me.

Used to spend up to 100 hours (looking at the FL studio time thing) trying to improve on my tracks when starting out. I mean its cool and shit if it works for you, but in my case I realized it kinda ends up being endless turd polishing. Now I try limiting myself to 30-40 hours. (though I usually go above that still, especially with endless FL studio crashing and rendering on my slow-ass pc)
Who gives a fuck?

Varies widely for me since I don't have that much time and since the more i listen to a track i've made, the worse i thing it is (when i technically can't produce it any better because of my skills i just start to get mad at myself and dislike it and often make it worse).

But I've had one project which i must've laid like 30-40 hours or so, didn't turn out very nicely IMO, and my favorite and best one todate were like 5-6 hours
I would write something here, but I'm too lazy to do so

It's strange how the tracks that take the least time to make can often be your favourite ones. I find if I'm getting past the 15 hour stage everything becomes forced. Don't know how people can stay motivated on a track for much longer but whatever works for you I guess.
