Oh so I just drag it down to below 0db right? Until it sounds good?

I guess that's one way to put it. Maybe instead of thinking "until it sounds good" (because afterall, your track already sounds good), think of it as just lowering the irritation and sharpness away from what is already working. You don't want to take it so far down that it starts to actually alter the sound (or else you're getting into actual sound design). You want it down just enough that it still sounds like itself, but just has that "edge" rubbed out. Does that make sense?

As you sweep, you are listening for areas that make your ears go "ouch! that frequency of my flute is WAY louder than it needs to be compared to the rest of it, let's just take that down a bit..."
Check out my song "Alive" feat. Christina Novelli!

I see what you mean! So, the flute and some bass parts need some work. I'll let you know when I make those corrections

Very cool! Inspiring actually.. Makes me want to do something chill like this.
It takes a lot of control, to hold back from making melodies more complicated -- for me anyway. :)  And not layering too much stuff, and keeping things, well, chill. Nice work on that.
About the flute sound -- I like the initial one at 2:30ish, but when the higher pitch comes in at 3:00 -- that seems to me like it'd be better as a whole nother synth sound, or maybe it does just need some EQ. Not sure.
The sub in the last section was just too subby for me. I thought a truck was driving by, and it didn't do anything musically for me. I like the idea though -- it could be fixed for sure.
Great job!

Haha it sounded like a truck! I was trying to make that part loud and heavy but I failed.

So do you think I should continue with this type of sound? Rather than trying to fit into a genre, maybe I could develop this type of sound.

So good for a first attempt! Keep it up

Any chance you can send me that vocal or tell me where you got it from?

Thanks

It was a sample that came with FL Studio!

Love it - I could see how with a bit more mixing experience this could evolve into something really special. good work!
