Other than music, the weather has been my biggest influence on the EP that I'm working on, winter weather specifically. I find so much inspiration in wind, rain and the night sky. Colours are also a big influence for me. Apparently it's called "sound-to-colour synethesia". I relate different types of music and sounds with colours and palates. For instance Talamak by Toro y Moi is a "purple song" to me. Nature and stories are also big influences for me.

This may sound odd, but it seems that my music always has some sort of "story" in it. It's not always a fully developed story or anything, but if I'm not trying to imitate my favorite tracks, then I'm making up some story concept and then writing a song about that. So I guess my imagination influences my music? I'm sure there's influence behind that as well but I'm not so sure myself...

Other influences include personal experiences in my life, and art.

On top of art and nature, relationships. Trying to recreate an emotion you have with a relationship with family, friends, significant other, people you party with, etc. influences what I do.

Digital Painting, Digital Art in general, sometimes I start a track just thinking in use that kind of visual art as cover of my song

Nostalgia and any emotive emotional experience I have come across in my meager life.  Places that put you in a good state of mind, like the beach for example

To be honest, I have no clue, I'm sure there's something but consciously it's always just been music itself for me and the emotions that come from listening to it. Silly how a repetitive drum rhythm with a simple melodic pattern on top can make people dance so much. That's just how the brain works, and I'm loving every second of it.

On a more abstract level I would say everything. From all of the electronic music history to all aspect of life. Doesn't make my music unique or totally new but that's still what is my fuel. And mainly emotions, what I'm going throught. Especially as a "hypersensitive" person.

On a closer level that would my daily job. Seems odd, but I work in a visual effect company so I'm everyday working on new stuff which I've almost always never done before, with deadlines and expectations, searching ways and tricks to the final picture juggling with all sorts of craft. It also makes me overly critic over my own production, which might be negative sometimes as being endlessly unhappy but I believe this is really making me move forward. I'm under other people judgement, or sometimes judging other people work, this is really something happening every single day and this is so important IMO

For myself, my general state of mind usually influences my current productions. I find myself heading into directions of pure bliss for a period of time and one little thing can change my mindset and send me in the opposite direction and allow me to access a completely different head space. Not something that is easy to explain, but I try not to fight these feelings.

Mat touched on isolation, and I completely agree. I've made some of my best tracks after being heart broken or fresh into a new relationship.

With all that being said, I've pulled inspiration and creativity from simply just telling myself to one up my last "best track".

Inspiration & Creativity can be found in many places. And every person draws different energies from different things. Try thinking back to tracks you've created and feel proud of, and try to remember what brought out the creativity in that track. One thing I started doing was attaching a Note Document to every track I've completed with my thoughts and feelings that surged through me while producing said track.
