Overproducing for me is adding little elements/details to the track which the common listener wouldn't notice or add nothing to the track itself

You can, but not that low. That low is just pure rumble.

I'll typically throw a 6db slope at 35hz. Nothing is down there.

Also I always heard that these frequencies could "hurt" speakers or it is a pure rumor ?

Hey guys, i'm currently doing the mixdown of a track, and was wondering if I have to cut all the frequencies below 25-30Hz on the whole master?

I'm producing since a long time now but I never really had a "studio", only my laptop in my bedroom with some poor speakers.. ;D

I'm thinking about buying some monitoring speakers but I don't have a clue which one I'll have to buy, also doesn't have a lot of money..

Can you guys help me on that? :)
